An image of my family’s dog, Isabella. She is a chihuahua with an attitude. I shot the image as she gazed out of the window, natural light exposing her face. Her dark fur disappears into the black background. I shot this image to supplement the original Dog in Profile of Mercedes. The practice of using a similar technique over time can increase the photographer’s ability to manipulate light.
