This photograph is of the crescent sun during the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017. Crescent is typically referring to the light that is exposed onto the moon from the sun. For this image, it is the opposite as the moon blocks the sunlight. To capture this astronomical photo took patience and preparation. The focal length of the lens was set to its furthest reach and had a specialty solar filter for capturing the sun without damaging the sensor.
